Opening the Audit Log
- Go to Settings
- Click Audit or Activity Log
- The log displays recent activities
Understanding Log Entries
Each entry contains:
Timestamp
When the action occurred:
- Date
- Time (often with timezone)
- Sorted newest first
User
Who performed the action:
- User's name or email
- "System" for automated actions
Action
What was done:
- Login/Logout
- View, Create, Edit, Delete
- Settings change
Target
What was affected:
- Patient record
- Appointment
- Setting
- User account
Details
Additional context:
- Specific changes made
- Before/after values (sometimes)
- IP address (for security)
Filtering the Log
By Date
- Select a date range
- Focus on specific periods
- Investigate particular times
By User
- See one person's activity
- Useful for access review
- Track specific actions
By Action Type
- Only logins
- Only data changes
- Specific categories
